Ariana Grande Joins the Fockers — First Trailer for Now They're the In-Laws Promises Pure Family Chaos

CinemaCon just hit play

Studio execs used the Vegas spotlight to roll out the first look at Now They’re the In-Laws, the surprise fourth chapter in the Meet the Parents saga. The teaser and poster dropped during CinemaCon, and yes, the old familiar bickering and panic have come back for another round.

So what’s the setup?

This time the troublemaker is Henry Focker, grown up and played by Skyler Gisondo. He’s announced he’s getting married — to a very unexpected choice: a character played by pop star Ariana Grande. Consider it a recipe for polite dinner-table disaster and modern dating vs. traditional-family collisions.

The returning (and new) troublemakers

Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller are back in their classic sparring roles, but they’re not alone. Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Beanie Feldstein, Eduardo Franco and Ben Lewis Doherty round out the cast, so expect familiar faces and fresh sparks. John Hamburg wrote and directed this installment, returning after scripting the original trilogy.

Tone check: familiar chaos, new flavor

From the footage, the film keeps the franchise’s mix of awkward humor and family one-upmanship while adding a contemporary twist thanks to Grande’s casting. Think fish-out-of-water moments, sly gags, and plenty of cringe that’s played for laughs rather than anything mean-spirited.

When you can see it

The movie lands in U.S. theaters on November 25 via Universal Pictures, with Spanish audiences getting it two days later courtesy of Paramount Pictures. Mark your calendars if you love holiday-season comedy with a side of family humiliation.

Quick take

This looks like a nostalgia-friendly update that also wants to surprise you. Whether you’re here for the De Niro–Stiller chemistry, curious about Ariana Grande’s comedic chops, or just in the market for a chaotic family night out, the trailer hints at a silly, crowd-pleasing ride.
